Celebrating the Winter Solstice – Sunday Snapshots

It is a busy time of year with a lot to celebrate! Our major event this past weekend was a Winter Solstice Celebration with our friends. It was a great opportunity to get together with our community and celebrate the change of season.

A friend of ours hosted e celebration at her house. A path of lights lead to multiple fires and a beautiful Labyrinth. It was a great opportunity for reflection and the kids loved it too.

Ryan had a lot of fun dressing up for the Solstice. I have already promised him that I will make cloaks for our celebration next year.

Cal worked hard to prepare an authentic meal for everyone using only Pre-Columbian Exchange ingredients. He made smoked pork, cabbage, mashed rutabaga and a split-pea stew with fennel croutons.
